Best Time to Visit Chopta

Chopta is a must-see attraction and a prime location that may be visited all year. If you want to visit the hallowed Tungnath Shrine, go between April and November; otherwise, the temple is closed. Summers (April – June) and winters are the best times to visit Chopta (October-December). Travelers interested in snowfall or snow trekking visit between January and March.

Except for a few months in winter when the region is blanketed with snow, Chopta has pleasant weather all year.

Summers:
Especially during the summers. The Himalayas are viewable, and the cool breeze adds to the allure of the vacation. Bring some light woolens with you. During the summer, the temperature it’s varies between 10°C and 24°C.

Monsoons: Visitors will become lost in nature’s wildness. During the monsoons, enjoy your tea while staring at the snow-capped peaks of Chopta. There is a danger that roads will be closed for a few hours due to landslides, but the beautiful grandeur of Chopta during the monsoon season is worth the risk. The monsoon season in Chopta occurs in July and August. Rainfall is little at this time of year, and the temperature is generally nice. If you are visiting Chopta during this time of year, you should have proper rain gear with you.

Winter: Chopta’s serenity and seclusion are at their peak in the winter. Winters in the region are blessed with snowfall, and lodging alternatives are limited. However, the best time to visit Chopta is during the winter, when it resembles a little Switzerland. Winters in Chopta are quite cold, so bring warm clothing. Winters are fairly cold, with maximum temperatures of 5°C and the lowest temperatures of -15°C with a lot of snow.

 By Air: Nearest Airport – Jolly Grant Airport
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. Take a cab from the airport to the hill station of Chopta, which is roughly 226 kilometers away.

By Rail (By Train): Haridwar and Rishikesh are the nearest railway stations
about 200 kilometers between Haridwar and Rishikesh. As a result, it is the most convenient train station. You may take the train to Rishikesh and then drive the rest of the way to the station

By Road (By Bus or Car)
There are regular bus connections. Well connected by road to famous state cities, including Rishikesh, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Gaurikund, and Pauri.
