Cable Car Information

Children over the age of five are charged in full.

Auli’s Background
According to documented history, the great Guru Adi Shankaracharya was the first person to set foot in the Auli region. He built a temple at Joshimath that is still in use today. Kwani Bugyal
Kwani Bugyal is situated at an elevation of 3,350 metres above sea level. Every year, the summer season draws a large number of tourists. Joshimath hosts trekking camps.

Kwani Bugyal is a nice area with woods and lush green grass. It is also known for the untouched splendour of the Himalayas. With its 13-kilometer trip from Auli and stunning views of snow-capped slopes, Kwani Bugyal is a hiker’s dream.
It is rated as a short trek with amazing views. Kwani Bugyal is an excellent site for viewing spectacular mountains such as Mount Nandadevi and Mount Dunagiri.
Chenab Lake
This location is one of Auli’s hidden gems. Those who do make it to Auli, however, make a point of stopping by. This lake is home to Dang, the final hamlet after Joshimath. Even though the roads are in bad condition, people still come here to appreciate the natural beauty.
Hike to Chattarkund
We’re about a kilometre away from Chattarkund, a sliver of land with an ethereal body of water. It is reputed to contain amazing water. Gurso Bugyal is a good place to start a climb to Chattarkund, which is surrounded by coniferous woods.
A 3-mile hike from Auli will take you to this picturesque location. You may also hike to Chattarkund, which is about one kilometer away.

Difficulty Level of Trek
Trishul Peak, Auli’s most picturesque mountain, is made up of three peaks that form the shape of a trident, or Trishula, as it is known in Hindi and Sanskrit. It is widely recognised to be Shiva’s sword. The Trishul group forms a ring around the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. Every year, tens of thousands of visitors visit the main peak. Trishul peak and many other summits in Auli are used for training by patrolling officers of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force. At the foot of the Trishul peak, there lies a nice lake. The lake is also known as Mystery Lake due to the finding of 600 human and horse skeletal remains.
