SUGGESTIONS/ADVISORY RIVER RAFTING AND CAMPING TOUR
Don’t take any risks at the riverside without a life jacket. It may be dangerous for you. If you have any problems, talk to your river or raft guide. Don’t go into the river without safety kits, life jackets, wetsuits, and permission from the guide.
Rafting with Body Surfing and Cliff Jumping during rafting only (those activities are part of rafting), all class rafting gear-rafts, life-jackets, helmets, paddles, dry bags, river rafting permits issued by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board-Department of Tourism, Government of Uttarakhand, and experienced river guides approved by the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board. Anybody found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, medically or physically unfit (any serious ailment, weak heart conditions, epilepsy, asthma, expecting mothers, etc), or otherwise unfit for any reason/s in the wisdom of the river/guide/instructor, will not be allowed to take the rafting trip or undertake any other adventure activities. Requests for a refund or a discount in such circumstances will not be entertained. The decision of the river guide/management in this regard would be final.
Visitors are requested to do rafting early in the morning at around 7 or 8 am to avoid the huge jam on the Tapovan-Shivpuri Road. We have seen people stuck in jams for hours and get their rafting unveiled due to their lateness.
Insurance: we strongly recommend that you protect yourself, valuable items, cash, etc., and your baggage with a short-term traveler’s insurance policy. Make your policy agent Baggage is carried entirely at your own risk. Carry List: Slippers, Trek suit, Sunshade/cap, sunscreen lotion, sunglasses, cord for spectacles & sunglasses, pairs of comfortable and sturdy wear for a change, towel, etc.-shirts & shorts for rafting.
Bulky clothes, shares, neckties, long skirts, suits, Chunri, etc are not permitted. Shorts, a T-shirt, preferably of synthetic material, floaters or sandals, sunglasses, and sunscreen lotion with strings are recommended.
High Season: Rishikesh has a very high season during March, April, May, and June every year. *Chardham Yatra, school holidays, and many festivals in May and June like Ganga Ashnan (Bath). So there is always a huge rush from Delhi to Rishikesh during the weekends, due to which you may face traffic in Rishikesh and nearby areas, so please start your journey at a manageable time.
Camping Attention: –Don’t bathe, swim in the river, don’t go to the near Ganga river or any other river with very large tides and waves, very deep inside the river, don’t go to the riverside. The risks in everything in life are injury, permanent injury, and death.
Don’t go out of the camp area at night without information.

The government has banned all those raft companies that were operating without licenses and certified guides. So there is a reduction in the number of boats to fulfill the demand for river rafting.
