Haridwar and Rishikesh Tour Packages
HARIDWAR RISHIKESH
Haridwar Rishikesh is a lovely town located on the renowned Ganges River. Haridwar Rishikesh is renowned as “The Gateway to God.” Visitors travel from all over the world to dip their toes in the Ganga. Bathing in the Ganga River, according to common belief, cleanses one of all sins. Haridwar is one of India’s oldest and holiest cities. The Hindu religion and culture attract visitors from all over the world.
In Haridwar Rishikesh, the Ganga River makes its maiden foray into the plains. Tourists may enjoy the city’s spectacular vistas of the Himalayan Shivalik range and the Ganga river’s crystal clear water. Many ghats in Haridwar provide opportunities to witness or participate in the evening Ganga aarti, and many people opt to sit there for peace of mind. The most common saying heard about Haridwar in India is “Agar Apne pap Dhone hai to Haridwar me a dubki logo”—(If you want to purify yourself/wash away your sins, then take a dip in Haridwar).
Because Har represents Shiva and Dwar represents gates, Shiva followers refer to Haridwar as Hardwar “Haridwar” or the Gateway to Shiva. It is regarded as the Gateway to Vishnu because Hari represents Vishnu and Dwar represents the Gates. This is why Vishnu worshipers called it Haridwar.
The city of Haridwar is believed to have existed between 1700 and 1800 B.C. While the Buddha was alive, Haridwar was a living person. During Jahangir’s reign, Thomas Coryat, a well-known British traveler, visited Haridwar. In the 18th century, the East India Company used Haridwar as a port. In 1886, with the entrance of the British, Haridwar was connected to a railway line. Laksar was the principal station at the time, and it was finally connected to Dehradun in 1906. Mughal Emperor Akbar drank Ganga water and referred to it as “The River of Immortality.”

Temples in Haridwar
Mansa Devi Temple
The Bilwa Parvat is the location of the Mansa Devi shrine. On the summit of the hill stands a temple. Mansa Devi, also known as Mata Shakti, is the subject of the temple. It is thought that the goddess Mansa Devi, whose name means “wish,” grants the requests of her worshippers. Believers hold that if they request the heart, it will be granted here. There are two routes to ascend the temple, one by foot and the other via cable car. Reaching the temple on foot takes 1.5 hours, and many pilgrims do it without shoes. By cable car, you may go to the temple by another method. It just took ten minutes. People must wait in a lengthy line to purchase tickets and receive darshan in the temple during the summer sessions (April to June) and on holidays.
Pawan Dham Haridwar
The Pawan-Dham branch of the Geeta Bhawan Trust has been in existence since 1970. Swami Vedantanandji Maharaj was the first to construct a platform. The temple is well-known for its magnificent glass and mirror artistry as well as its exquisitely clothed sculptures. The Pawan Dham Temple is in Uttarakhand, around two kilometres from Haridwar, on the way to Rishikesh. The Pawan Dham is around 500 meters further down the Rishikesh road.
Bharat Mata Temple:
The Bharat Mata temple is a multi-story building that commemorates liberation heroes, goddesses, numerous Indian states, Shiva, and Bharat Mata (Mother India). The temple is located in Haripur Kalan, Haridwar. The temple comprises eight floors, each with its own set of attractions. Everyone else must descend on foot because the temple only has an elevator to the top floor. A lift costs only INR 2 per person to take you to the summit.
Chandi Devi Temple
Chandi Devi Temple
The Chandi Devi temple is located in the Neel Parvat. Another temple can be seen on the top of the hill. The temple is dedicated to Mata Shakti (also known as Mata Parvati), who incarnated as Chandi Devi and slew the demons Shumbh and Nishumbh. Indra and the gods were exiled from heaven by the Shumbh and Nishumbh. Parvati took on the appearance of a beautiful lady. The devil, who intended to marry her, was stunned by her beauty. After the Goddess refused his offer, the devil sent his army commanders, Chand and Mund, to murder her. She fought despair and the monsters on this hill. Since then, the temple has been known as the Chandi Devi Temple.
The Temple provides two means to reach the top: a 4.4-kilometer climb and a cable car. It takes 03.5 hours to get there since worshipers do not wear shoes (which is why they have made a wish that they will come without shoes if their wish comes true). Another way to travel to reach the shrine is by cable car. Only 15 minutes had elapsed. During summer sessions (April to June) and holidays, people must wait in a long line to pay tickets and enter the temple.
